At APPe Nik Inc., we are committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how the DIMR App (Adult Version) collects, uses, and shares data. It also explains the measures we take to protect your information. This Privacy Policy applies only to the adult version of the DIMR App, which targets parents, schools, and institutions, and complies with Google Play’s Data Safety requirements.

1. About the DIMR App (Adult Version)

The DIMR App (Adult Version) helps users build family trees, preserve family heritage, and securely store multimedia content. It is designed exclusively for adults. A separate children’s version of the DIMR App will be released later.

The DIMR App complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

2. Data We Collect

The DIMR App collects the following data to enable its functionality. Each type of data is explicitly labeled as mandatory or optional:

a. Personal Information (Mandatory)

  • Names
  • Dates of birth
  • Country of origin
  • Phone number or email (either one is required) for login purposes.

b. Multimedia Content (Optional)

  • Photos
  • Voice recordings (stored directly on the user’s device)
  • Video links (optional for displaying family activities within the family tree app)
  • Personal photo albums for each family member, available for users who upgrade to a subscription after entering 10 family members.

c. Heritage Details (Mandatory)

  • Hobbies
  • Relationships: Users can identify how they are related to family members.

d. Announcement Section (Optional)

The announcement section includes four departments:

  • News: Provides real-time updates on what’s happening.
  • Sponsor: Institutions can sponsor the DIMR App in exchange for promotions and offer programs, scholarships, or other specials to parents and families. Sponsoring institutions may also use this section to promote discounts and family programs. These announcements are public and viewable by all users of the app.
  • Blog: A space for users to post blogs or share content.
  • Donate: Allows donations to help support the app.

Announcements posted in this section are public and visible to all users.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data collected for the following purposes:

  • To build and display family trees securely within the app.
  • To store and organize multimedia and heritage-related content for each user.
  • To enable users to populate public blogs and announcements in the announcement section.
  • To enhance the app’s core functionality and improve the user experience.

4. Data Sharing

a. Private Profiles

  • Your family tree and personal content are private and only accessible to you.
  • Family trees and heritage information cannot currently be exported.
  • Users can add or delete their content within their albums at any time.

b. Public Announcement Section

  • Blogs and announcements are public and visible to all users. They display the name of the person or company posting, along with public business information, if applicable.

c. Third-Party Integrations

We use trusted third-party services to provide app functionality:

  • Google Firebase: Used to store and organize personal information securely to enable app functionality. Firebase retains user information until a user requests its deletion.
  • Google Cloud Storage: Provides secure data storage and ensures app performance and accessibility.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • Encryption: All data collected by the DIMR App is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
  • Secure Storage: Data is stored on encrypted devices like Google Cloud and Firebase.
  • Unique Login Credentials: Each user has unique login credentials and is responsible for keeping their login information safe from unauthorized access.
  • Privacy: User information is private and accessible only to the user.

6. User Data Controls

We provide users with complete control over their data:

  • Users can add, edit, or delete content within their accounts or personal albums.
  • Users cannot download their family tree or heritage data as a file.
  • User-generated personal content is private and accessible only through the user’s account.

7. Data Retention Policy

  • Data is retained as long as the account remains active.
  • To delete an account and all associated data, users should contact us at support@appenik.com.
  • Once requested, data will be permanently removed from our servers within 12 to 72 hours.

8. Payment Practices

All payments in the DIMR App are processed securely through third-party providers such as Google Pay and Revenue Cat. These providers may have access to email addresses and encrypted credit card details for payment processing. The DIMR App does not collect or store credit card information.

9. Compliance with Google Play Data Safety

We have completed the Google Play Data Safety Form, and the information disclosed there is consistent with this Privacy Policy.

10. Transparent Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our practices, user feedback, or legal requirements. Users will be notified of updates through:
